Hi friends! If you haven’t noticed by now, my fur babies (Nelli and Maizi) are my absolute world. I am constantly researching the best products, treats, training tools, cleaners….the list goes on! I narrowed things down to a few of my faves + necessities below.
The first thing every pet owner finds out real quick in the game, is that animals shed….constantly! I immediately look to researching the best pet hair removal products once we adopted Maizi. Adding that second dog really made a difference in the amount of hair I was finding everywhere! This little hair remover is the answer to end constant lint rolling. It picks up the hair and stores it into a little compartment, much like a handheld, manual vacuum. Trust me on this one, guys!
While on the topic of cleaning, I feel that I would be doing y’all an injustice if I didn’t mention my most raved about stain removing products! Between Folex and also Weiman’s Upholstery and Fabric cleaner, I can get just about any stain out of our *white* rugs, *white* couch, and …. “sigh” … *white* bedding (who let me buy so much white with such messy dogs??). Please Note: be sure to read directions on what fabrics will not react well with these two products!
During some of my previously mentioned research, I learned that dogs digest their food much better when they don’t have to eat off the ground level. Thus, I got to shopping! I found these super chic and stylish elevated dog bowls from The Barnwood Barge on Etsy. The fun part about these are that they offer a customized height but can also customize the feeders to have your pet’s name on them (‘cause obviously your pet can read!).
This one is more geared towards dogs, but I don’t doubt there isn’t something similar for kitties! Back story: for years we struggled on walks with our first dog, Nelli. No amount of training or exercise would help to prevent her from choking herself out on walks—no lie. Then, we adopted our second dog, Maizi. While she was better at walking on a leash, it was still not enjoyable. I took to researching once again, in search of a harness that would not only make walks pleasant for us, but comfortable for our babies too. I ended up purchasing what they call a “no-pull” harness. Like many of the other gimmicky products out there, I was skeptical. However, upon the first few steps of our walk, I was in shock! Who were these dogs and what did they do with our pulling pups?! There is no exaggeration when I say how much these harnesses have changed our walks forever. The big difference is where the leash connects to the harness. Most will hook in between the shoulder blades which actually brings out the instinct in them to pull (think sled dogs). These no pull harnesses actually hook in the middle of their chest, making it physically impossible to walk straight and pull at the same time. The best part is, our dogs are now comfortable, and we no longer get our arms pulled out of our sockets-ha!
5. Bandanas
Last but definitely not least, because who doesn’t love to dress up their baby? Whether it’s holiday themed, personalized, or a fun print, you can bet on Etsy to have it! For years I struggled to find bandanas that were first off: big enough, and secondly not hideous (definitely harder to find than you think). I have never had a bad experience with a seller on Etsy, and if for some reason something was mistakenly messed up, they are always more than willing to make it right. Not to mention, I love supporting small businesses! Most sellers have hundreds of options, sizes, or personalization choices that will best suit you and your fur baby. I will link a few of my favorites to this post!
I could easily spend more on dog accessories than my own, so I did my best to keep this as condensed as possible – hahah! Be on the look out for a part two, there’s so many great pet products out there. Nel and Maiz say thanks for reading and don’t forget to scratch your pet’s belly today!
