I am so excited to finally get this blog article posted. Y’all have been the best support system when it comes to fueling my jewelry addiction, so it’s only fair I dish out the secrets! In my opinion, jewelry is what takes an outfit from a 6 to a 10. It sets the vibe for the entire look you are trying to achieve.
However, your jewelry doesn’t always have to be the center of attention. Most of the time, I wear the same few pieces on repeat. The key is to invest in a few quality items that will last. Of course, I love the inexpensive “trendy” pieces, as those still have a time and place. However, I cannot stress how great it is to not worry about rings tarnishing after you forgot to take them off in the shower, or mess with earrings that irritate your ears before you even get to the restaurant. My rule of thumb is to stick with Sterling Silver, or Gold Filled (not plated!) metal. This will get you a quality piece that should last ~2 years, and not break the bank. The majority of the time I spend under $50, and so far, everything has held up well!
ALTHOUGH: I do stress you take care of your jewelry as best as you can. This means avoiding direct contact with perfumes, lotions, chlorine, etc. While your jewelry will initially be fine, it will take time off of the lifespan.
As you can see from the images, my most worn items are the simplest. It makes it easy to get ready when your jewelry will match regardless if you wear the orange top or the black dress—and I know you know what I mean! Side Note: I realize that it may not be for everyone, but I LOVE wearing gold and silver simultaneously. In fact, my bracelets and rings that I wear daily are intermixed between the two finishes.
