Hey friends!
Coming at you this morning with an overflowing heart. This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to join some of my favorite Instagram bff’s (bff’s IRL now!) in the stunning mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado. While we called this a “Blogger Trip”, it really was so much more than that. Don’t get me wrong, there was definitely a lot of work, but we sure did make time for some play as well!
Where We Stayed:
This cabin was exactly what you’d expect for a mini mansion in the mountains, y’all. It slept all 8 of us well (we did sleep 3 to a King, and 2 to a Queen), and had plenty of room for us to hangout around the kitchen + living room area. There was also a personal hot tub outdoors and plenty of fireplaces inside to keep you toasty. The location was perfect, as we were in a quiet little housing development just on the outskirts of town. It came fully stocked with any and all household items you may need. Totally a win in my book!
What We Did:
Being that is was a 48 hour “work trip” we did focus a lot of our time on getting content during the best daylight hours. However, when we weren’t working, we made sure to take in the sights and culture of Breck. Their main street is something out of a Hallmark Christmas movie-no lie! It’s quaint, bustling, and homey. There are plenty of shops + restaurants to keep you busy for a couple hours. While we didn’t have time, I know they are notorious for their ski slopes and winter weather activities!
The Best View:
In addition to walking their main street, we also made sure to take in all of the incredible mountain views. Our favorite trip was the curvy 15-minute drive to Baker’s Tank. Be aware: this drive is not for the faint of heart. The road narrows in some spaces, and you are quite literally on the edge of a mountain. However—the views are like none other and 100% worth it! (This is coming from someone who is petrified of heights).
Where We Ate:
As soon as we got to town, a grocery trip was in order. We stopped at the City Market (5 minutes from our Airbnb) and picked up snacks + breakfast items to help cut down on expenses. For dinner, we ate out one night, and ordered takeout the second.
A major tip I just want to get out of the way: MAKE RESERVATIONS. Read that again. Haha but in all honesty, the town is so quaint and charming, meaning the restaurants are “quaint” as well. It wasn’t uncommon for a café or restaurant to only have 4-5 tables total, most of which were completely full. We traveled with a group of 8, and it was tricky finding places that had the capacity to hold us. However, we did get dinner + drinks the first night in town at a yummy little place called the Canteen. The variety of food was fantastic, and I HAVE to recommend the mojito ;). For take out the second night, a large majority of us ordered sushi from Blue Fish, which was DELISH. They also had great cocktails that we sipped on while waiting for our takeout order. Those that weren’t in the mood for sushi ordered take out from a little Italian place called Giampietro. They had massive portions for the price, and you could easily split the plates between two!
What To Wear:
Okay, you already know that we were dressed to the nines! However, I recommend leaving the heels at home as we definitely stuck out like tourists. The dress code there is very low key. Most locals were in winter coats, stocking hats, and snow boots, aka anything to keep you warm and comfy! Keep in mind the temperature was in the 50’s, so dress accordingly based on the time of year. I can’t forget to add that the town was very much aware of the pandemic (Covid) and acted accordingly. Masks were required both inside and outside.
That covers it! While the trip went by quick, we came home with memories that will far outlast the time spent there. If you ever have the chance to take a weekend trip with your insta-besties, I whole heartedly encourage you to jump at the opportunity!
Talk soon, xx
