This past week, Traeton and I snuck away to Miami for a little R&R. We usually try to take a trip over my birthday/our anniversary (March 10th) and kill two birds with one stone ;). The last time we were in Florida was exactly a year ago (aka right before the big “C” struck). It was so nice to be able to travel (safely of course) and explore somewhere new!
Growing up, my mom always made sure to take us (me + my 3 sibs) on a spring break trip of some sorts, and I am forever grateful! Even back then, I took pride in carefully selecting my vacation outfits since it’s usually right in the middle of the winter funk, and I am always READY for all the bright prints and warm weather looks.
Swimsuit Options
Let’s talk swim first (my most favorite part!). I try to create a good balance between some classic looks such as a ‘lil black bikini, and some fun pieces, like a printed swimmie, or one with bright colors. Vacation is when I really love to experiment with all the new trends…have fun with it!
My most favorite swimsuit was probably this High Cut bikini, + I got so many compliments on it at the beach! I am wearing a small in the top (size up if you have a larger bust), and a size medium in the bottoms.
Y’all also loved this $11.00 swimsuit, plus it comes in a few more colors! I am wearing a size medium in this one.

Accessories
Next, are all the fun accessories that come with vacation wear. IMO, hats can make ya or break ya! However, they do also serve a purpose of protecting your face from the sun. Personally, after day two of beachin’ – my face is in desperate need of shaded protection!
My straw hat is going on its second season, and I cannot get enough of it during the summer. I also snagged this cute ‘lil visor, which is perfect for the beach or windier days since it won’t fly off! I also really appreciate that you can lay back in a beach chair while wearing it.
I can’t talk about accessories without quickly mentioning these Ray-ban dupes! They are also spot on twins for my Quay’s, but a fraction of the price.
Honorable mention are these Amazon sunnies. They have followed me from winter wear into spring and summer. For the price, you can’t beat ’em! Comes in a pack of two for $14.00.
