Down in Dallas: My Girl’s Weekend in Texas!

Date
Jul, 27, 2021

Screaming a big, warm, “Yee Haw” to all my cowgirls out there! I have been feeling all the western vibes after visiting one of my favorite cities, Dallas; a couple weeks ago. Traeton and I always say if we were to ever move – it would be to Dallas, TX! I absolutely adore the vibes, people, and let’s be honest…. the food is unreal.

This time, for our girl’s trip, we stayed in the Canvas Hotel, just south of downtown. I loved the location because we could get anywhere in the city within 15 minutes. The vibes are totally eccentric, urban, and CUTE! So many IG worthy picture spots. The best part about the hotel though, was the rooftop pool. The views were quite literally “immaculate”, with the city skyline set right in front of you. If you are looking for party vibes, then make sure to check out the pool deck on the weekends! They bring in a DJ that keeps the mood bumping all day long. One tip would be to be aware that you may need to rent poolside chairs or cabanas at this time. If you aren’t looking to do that while the DJ is there, then I highly recommend checking out the other portion of their rooftop, on the patio!

If you’re looking to relax while in Dallas, then I whole heartedly recommend checking out the spa at the Crescent Court. We visited the spa our first day there and let me tell you – they definitely got our trip started on the right foot! We tried out the Cryotherapy machine, a new experience for me. It is targeted to help with joint + muscle pain and an added little bonus is that it burns around 400 calories. Cheers to that! We were then treated to an hour-long massage and holy cow was that a dream! The staff was beyond kind and helpful, and the amenities were top notch.

Okay, now I told y’all that the food in Dallas is unreal, and this weekend reaffirmed that for me! We started out with the most amazing meal at Hudson House at the Highland Park location. The last time I was in Dallas I really wanted to visit but they were already booked out for the weekend – and for good reason! The service was fantastic, and the food was some of the best I have had. I recommend trying out the Mac and Cheese, Shrimp Dynamite, Espresso Martini, Chocolate Silk Pie …. Trust me.

We also made sure to stop at Restoration Hardware rooftop for brunch (because RH is ALWAYS a good idea!). The area also has some great shops to visit if you’re trying to walk off the Truffle Fries you just inhaled from RH… Just me?

Another favorite that I will always make a stop at is The Henry! Last time in Dallas, we were there twice for dinner/cocktails. This time we made sure to visit for brunch, and as always, they did not disappoint! The patio is also next level adorable.

We also visited Las Palmas for dinner (yummy queso!) and grabbed Cane Rosso’s for take-out one night. Honestly, some of the best pizza I have ever had. Wishing we had one in KC – sigh.

Our last morning there, wandered around Greenville Ave (10/10 recommend that area for walking, shopping, dining – anything!). We wound up at the cutest little coffee shop – La La Land. I loved all the bright white and yellow + their coffee hit the spot. Also, such a cute spot for a photo op!

A few other places I can recommend are:

The Rustic – Music + Events + Food

Breadwinner’s Café and Bakery

Highland Park Village

Sixty Vines

HG Sply Co – Greenville Ave Location

The Biscuit Bar

While the time spent in Dallas is never enough, I can always count on leaving with a fully belly + full heart.

Giddy up, gals!
